Lettering: Geometric Mid-century Metal Architectural
See an old sign but can’t identify the typeface? If it’s not custom lettering it may be prefabricated metal, wood, or plastic letters from a specialist supplier. These products were commonly used for mid-20th-century buildings. Some of the styles are inspired by printer’s typefaces, and use their names (e.g., Futura and Kabel), but they are usually unique designs specifically for the architectural market.
